Peaches Comes Home!

Peaches has recovered and she is back at her foster home. She is so glad to be back. Griffin was so excited to see his foster friend. They have been running around the backyard and playing. Peaches had no problem going up the stairs or out the doggie door. We are so thankful that she has recovered and I know she is anxious to meet her forever family. Until then, we will love her as if she is our own. Thanks to everyone who sent thoughts and prayers her way.
Just this morning, some students at my high school were participating in a project with one of the special education classes. One of our faculty members brought his small dog to school to meet the students. As they walked down the hall, you could hear students commenting on how cute the dog was and everyone seemed to have a smile on their face. I truly believe that pets bring out the best in people. They sure do brighten my day.

Golden Update

How many goldens can play at the top of the stairs? You guessed it, 4. We are missing the Peach. She is feeling better and may get to come home this weekend. Griffin has been such a great foster boy. He is very sweet and he loves to play with Karma. We had some thunder last night and he barked a few times, but other than that he was not bothered. Robbie gets a little nervous during storms but everyone else just sleeps right through the bad weather. Griffin decided to carry his food bowl around the kitchen after he ate tonight, but I could not get a picture. When I tried to take his picture, he just followed me around.

Busy Weekend

The goldens have had a great weekend. Matthew came to spend the night with us on Saturday and they have loved having him around. They have had so much fun playing ball and following him around. They really loved the treat Matthew brought them from the Three Dog Bakery. As soon as Peaches feels better, her bone is waiting for her.

Peaches Update

I visited Peaches at CPH on Friday afternoon. She has been eating and she seems to feel a little better. She was so glad to see me.

Karma & Griffin

What a beautiful weekend! We went from snow and 18 degrees to sunshine and 60 degrees. Peaches and Griffin love my nephew, Matthew. Matthew loved playing "football" with the dogs.

The goldens loved the snow!

Our goldens loved playing in the snow. If you look closely, you won't see Peaches in this video. It was way too cold for her and she stayed in the house. She did get out this morning to play chase with Griffin. Of course, I did not have my camera to capture them (the battery was charging). They have become best friends. Peaches has now learned to go up and down the stairs. Griffin loves to play and he also loves to takes naps next me. He is a love bug just like Peaches.

Griffin (Foster #88)

Meet our new foster boy, Griffin. He was a litter mate to Tres.

More Peaches

Peaches has really started to let her golden personality shine. She is beginning to venture into the living room. We are still working on getting her to go up the stairs, but she is still a little unsure about that. She loved laying on the dog bed with the toys.

Peaches (Foster #87)

Peaches came to us from the Memphis Animal Shelter. When I picked her up at CPH, she was very timid and scared. She hid behind the counter and I had to pick her up and put in the car. She road very quietly in the back seat. She is beginning to get a little braver each day. She has already learned to go through the doggie door. At first, she was very unsure of the flap on the door, but after watching our dogs go in and out, she decided to try it. She is not quiet sure of the stairs yet, but I bet she will be going up and down them in a few days. She does fine with the other dogs and she is beginning to go outside with Karma.
