Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has a great new year. I am having fun at my foster home. Tres and I watched a movie together one night. I followed in Karma's footsteps and got in the patio chair to keep watch over the backyard. I am looking forward to the new year because I just know that I will have my own family.

Holly

Hello everybody! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. I had a big day. First of all, Santa Paws came by and left a note on Tres' collar. It said that his foster family was adopting him and that he now had his forever family. I was really excited for him. As you can see from his picture, he was really excited too. I have been busy. First of all, it was snowing and we had to run around the backyard. I have had so much fun playing with Karma and Tres. I have also had to take a few naps from time to time. I am scheduled to have my "girl" surgery on Thursday and then I will be ready to find my forever family.

Merry Christmas

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope you enjoy my song. Holly

(Sing to the tune of Holly Jolly Christmas)
Have a Holly MAGRR Christmas
It's the best time for a home
Well I don't know if there'll be snow
But I won't be alone.

--------------------------

Have a Holly MAGRR Christmas
And when you read my blog
Say hello to friends you know
And all the MAGRR dogs.

------------------------

Ho ho the nylabone
Hung where we can see
A family waits for us
Find one just for me.

-------------------------

Have a Holly MAGRR Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a MAGRR Golden Christmas
This year.

-------------------------

Have a Holly MAGRR Christmas
And when you walk to the park
Say hello to furry friends you know
And everyone who barks.

-------------------------

Have a Holly MAGRR Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a MAGRR Golden Christmas
This year.

Argus gets adopted!

My Christmas wish came true. If you have been reading my blog, then you already know that I have been at my foster home since October. On November 10, I had to have my back left leg amputated (my mom helped with that word) and I have been recovering from my surgery. Well, I just found out that I was adopted and I could not be happier. My foster family is adopting me. All I asked Santa for this Christmas was a shiny MAGRR tag and a family to call my own. So to all my furry friends in the world, keep hoping for someone to come to your rescue, because it will happen. Oh, and one more thing before I go. My foster dad is calling me Tres and my mom is still saying Argus so I think my new name is Baby Tri Tres Argus. I know it's a long name for such a handsome, tall, lanky, sweet, adorable, well-behaved, red golden tripod boy, but if it makes them happy, then I am happy. Oh, and don't forget to keep looking at my mom's blog. She will be posting updates about my new foster sis, Holly. Even though I am a very laid back golden, I do play with her. She can be a little annoying sometimes (she still has baby teeth), but I like having her around. Once again, thanks MAGRR for giving me a chance to have a family. Baby Tri Tres (Argus)

Holly

Hi everybody, this is Holly. My mom is in the kitchen cooking some graham cracker cookies, so I thought I would post something on my blog. I hope you like my Christmas picture. I tried to sit really still while I had my picture taken. I heard Cedar whisper something to Robbie about my ears. I don't think he really meant anything bad, since he is a golden mix, but I did wonder what he meant. I looked around at Argie and Karma and I noticed that their ears were long and floppy. Well, you can see from my picture that my ears are a little short and they sit just a little high. I do hope that you can look past the ears and give me a chance. I am a beautiful blonde color and I am a really sweet girl. I love to cuddle and watch TV and I also like to play ball. I can drop the ball and then go get it without disturbing anyone. I like to lay under the computer desk while my foster mom is working ( she is really just browsing the Internet and shopping) but don't tell her I said that. I love my picture with Cedar. You see, Cedar really does not have much to do with me. He is a big mama's boy but don't tell him I said that. Oops, I hear my mom coming up the stairs so I better wrap this up. Please think about how precious a beautiful blonde girl would fit in your household and watch for more posts.
Talk to you later, Holly

Holly

Holly is settling into her foster home. She has already learned to use the doggy door and she is almost potty trained. She loves to cuddle after playing with her new friends.

Argus works for MAGRR!

Argus worked a shift at Barnes & Noble on Sunday. While Carole and I wrapped gifts, he was working as the MAGRR greeter. Tim held tightly on his leash just in case he decided to run through the store. He laid on his Christmas blanket and let everyone pet his head. Everyone loved Argus and they could not believe that he was only 6 months old and that he was so well behaved. He had to tell the story of how he lost his little leg and how MAGRR came to his rescue.

Merry Christmas to Argie

Don't you just love my new bed? Karma and I had to share my mom and dad's bed for a nap and now I have my very own.

Baby Tri

Hi everybody. Baby Tri here. I wanted everyone to know that I am doing fine. My hair is beginning to grow back and of course I am as cute as ever. I just got a new bed for Christmas and I love it. It is a little too big to carry out the doggy door, but I am trying to find a way. I guess I will just stick to the throws and the couch pillows for now. I am a little put out with my mom though. Every time I am almost to the door, she stops me and takes the pillow away. I have worked so hard to hop through the kitchen on my three legs and then she stops me. I give her that golden puppy look, but she still takes them away. Don't tell her, but one time I did carry out the fleece throw. Karma and I played tug of war with it and I won. I now have a very cool scarf to wear and it even has snowmen on it. I may wear it to the Germantown Christmas parade on Saturday. Don't forget to look for all the goldens on Saturday. I am planning to ride the float most of the way, but I will just have to get down and let all of the children pet my head once or twice.
Merry Christmas, Argus (AKA Baby Tri)
P.S. As soon as my mom gets my picture (with my new bed) off of her phone, she will post it. If you look closely, I still have my other leg. I wonder if my mom noticed that??

Argus finally decided to get up and move around a bit. We had 4 lazy goldens on a Sunday afternoon.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everybody. This is Baby Tri (Argus). I just wanted to thank MAGRR for rescuing me and my brothers and sisters. I am so thankful that MAGRR got me the medical treatment that I needed. I know that some people might not understand why a cute little Golden Retriever puppy might be thankful when he just lost his leg, but I am. You see, I did not use my left back leg and I kept getting some sharp pains in my leg. I would lay on the couch (yes, I do get on the furniture) and whimper. My foster parents knew that something was going on with my leg. I would run fast in the backyard, but I did not put any weight on that leg. I was already a three-legged puppy, but I just did not know it. This post is not meant to bring tears of sadness, so I am sorry if you get a little teary eyed. This post is my Thanksgiving message. To all the wonderful people that find it in their hearts to save animals that are not fortunate to have a loving family, I say thank you, thank you, thank you.

Argus (Baby Tri)

Argus got his staples removed today and he is doing great.
He likes to take the bathroom rugs and blankets to the top of the stairs and hang out.

It is much easier for Argus to eat with his bowl elavated. He was not very happy with the box. I think it was a little too high. He prefers to eat out of Karma's bowl. His granddaddy will have to make him a new food station for Christmas.

Argus Update

Hi everybody, Argus here. I have been getting lots of rest at my foster home. I am getting around so good without my bad leg. I'm not sure what happened, but I don't have any more pain. As soon as I got home, I ran up the stairs and back down again. I do get a little tired after playing for a little while. I love eating out of Karma's dog bowl because it sits up high and I don't have to lay down to eat. I have been going to my Aunt Sherry's house while mom and dad are at work. I don't mind the crate, but I don't need to get bord and decide to lick my stitches (staples). I am taking my medicine like a big boy. It is time for another nap, so I will talk to everyone later.

November 11, 2010

Argus comes home

I went by CPH this afternoon to visit Argus, and he got to come home. He is such a happy boy. He is adjusting so well without his leg. He loves to hang out at the top of the stairs. When his ball went tumbling down, Cedar, Robbie and Karma all three watched him go down the stairs and then back up. So, if you were worried about Argus like I was, rest assured that he is doing just fine. Thanks to MAGRR, this little boy will have a great life.

Sad News

Argus is recovering from his surgery. His leg was worse than the vets first thought, and he had to have it removed today. He should be able to come home on Friday. Keep sweet Argus in your thoughts and prayers.

November 8, 2010

Agrus Update

I took Argus to the vet on Thursday for more x-rays on his left back leg. He was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. On our way home, we stopped at Three Dog Bakery so he could visit the frosting bar. He loved the bakery and everyone loved him. His foster Aunt Sherry bought him a toy to have while he recovers from his surgery. I took him back Friday morning for his surgery. I called the vet today and he needs to stay at the clinic for a few more days. As soon as we get this sweet guy home, I will post more pictures. In the mean time, keep sweet Argus in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Argus

Argus is having a great time with his foster brothers and sister. He has the sweetest face and he loves to carry rugs, towels or blankets around. He likes to head up the stairs with his goodies. Just today, he headed up the stairs with Cedar's food bowl. Of course, I did not have my video camera.

Autumn gets adopted!

Autumn got adopted today and Argus is feeling a little down. Well, I'm not sure he is really missing her, but I sure am. It was so much fun having 2 golden pups around. Argus is doing fine and he has found a football game to watch (he really naps). When you have to say goodbye, and you feel tears forming in your eyes, you know why so many people ask "how can you let them go". Tim and I have now done this 84 times and it never gets easy. But, as I wipe away the tears, I am so thankful that I got to meet sweet Autumn. She brought so much joy to our lives in just a few weeks. She has left her puppy paw prints on our hearts and we will never forget her.

Puppy Love

Autumn and Argus really enjoyed watching the world series last night. As you can see, they were wide awake to catch all the action.

Argus and Autumn Update

The pups (Argus is the red boy and Autumn is the blonde girl) are settled in at their foster home. They love to play tug with the rope. They have mastered the doggie door, the stairs, and they are almost potty trained. They do get a little excited when we get home and Autumn has had a few accidents before she makes it outside. They are your typical golden puppies. They are very sweet and love to play. Argus (the pirate) had a little fun with the rope while big sis Karma (with the mask) looked on. Since Halloween is just around the corner, there seemed to be a few creatures crawling around the yard.

Argus and Autumn (Foster 84 and 85)

One puppy, two puppies, three puppies, four. Five puppies, six puppies, MAGRR needs no more. It is puppy time at MAGRR. We picked up Argus and Autumn Tuesday afternoon. Just how adorable are toddler goldens? Well, just take a look at these pictures and videos and you are sure to have a smile on your face. They are having a great time in their foster home. They have learned to climb stairs, go out the doggy door and chase the tennis ball. Fun! Fun! Fun! This is what rescue is all about. By the way, Argus and Autumn are watching Marmaduke with Tim and Karma.

Barrett Update

I just wanted everyone to know that I had my "boy surgery" today. I am really not sure what was going on, but I had to skip breakfast this morning. I spent the day at CPH and now I am back at my foster home. I was a good boy at the vet's office and now I am resting with Karma. This video was taken a few days ago, but I am sure I will be back to my playful self in a few days.

Barrett

Hi everybody. This is Barrett and I wanted to thank MAGRR so much for rescuing me from the Memphis Animal Shelter. On August 28, two nice ladies from MAGRR decided to take a chance on me. Even though I did not have a beautiful golden retriever coat, I was saved. I was so thin and down on my luck. But, look at me now! I am having the time of my life with my foster family. I have put on a few pounds and my golden personality is showing through. I should be ready to be adopted pretty soon. I think I have to go back to the vet for some type of boy surgery, but I'm not scared. If I can survive being in the shelter, I think I will be just fine.

Barrett

Barrett has picked up a bad habit from Robbie. He likes to retrieve the tennis ball and then sit in the yard and try to chew the cover off. What is it with these goldens?

Robbie is the one laying down. He probably has a tennis ball in his mouth.

September 19, 2010

Sneak Attack

Barrett loves to stand on the patio and wait for Cedar to rectrieve the tennis ball. He will wait for Cedar to bring the ball back and then he jumps toward him to play.

September 18, 2010

Barrett

It has been two weeks and Barrett is looking so much better. He is such a great boy. As most MAGRR people know, I love my fosters the moment I pick them up and he is no exception. He has not learned to retrieve the tennis ball and bring it back, so Karma was a little sneaky and took it from him. He is having a great time and he is really enjoying being part of the family.

September 11, 2010

Barrett and Friends

Barrett is having a great time at his foster home. As predicted, Karma had to wait a few days before she officially accepted Barrett as a play mate. You see, Karma is the queen of canines in our house. Her two brothers, Cedar and Robbie have always let her have it "her way" and she just wants to make sure that the foster understands how things work around here. Usually, after about 3 or 4 days, she decides that she is going to play.
