Breezy leaves tomorrow!

The last few days have really been surreal.  All evening on Tuesday we listened as tornado sirens with off.  We missed a day of school because of the power outages and tree damage.  Then Wednesday evening as I was watching the Memphis Grizzlies play, I saw the devastation that occurred in Alabama.  It really puts things in perspective.  I was feeling sorry for myself because Bree is leaving and people have lost their lives and their homes. We did have school today.  On my home, I was meeting a foster to give her a couple of crates. She is fostering her first golden, Jadee and her four pups. While we were loading the crates in her car, she asked me if I did much fostering. Of course, I told her all about Bree and how she would be leaving us tomorrow. I did tell the truth. It is very hard to let these fosters go. The hardest thing about loving them, is losing them. I began to think that today is the last day that I will be able to love on this sweet golden girl. Tomorrow, she will be a memory. Now, before I get too sad and need kleenex, I need to remember one thing. If it wasn't for MAGRR and all of the foster families, these goldens would find themselves lost and lonely. So, with all of that said, enjoy the video. The time that we have spent with Bree is priceless and I would not trade the few tears for anything. I'm just glad that we had her a little while. By the way, Bree is going to another baseball game tonight.  Matthew plays ball and he wants to tell her goodbye.  We love you Breezy.

Bree

Bree is getting ready to sneak up on Karma.

Bree poses for a picture. She went for a 45 minute walk this afternoon. She did ok on the leash, but she does neet a little more practice. She was very curious of all the sounds.

Baby Bree

Bree is having a great time at her foster home. She loves playing with Karma and hanging out with the family. She loves to be around people. She knows sit and she takes her treats like a very polite little girl. She is a busy little pup. She likes to be right in the middle of things and she won't hesitate to let you know that she is around. She might even bark from time to time. She is crate trained and completely house trained.

What a beautiful "Breezy" day!

Hi everybody, this is Bree. My foster mommy said that I could tell you all about my great day. She also wanted me 2 remind everybody that I am only 6 months old, so I might spell a word or 2 wrong. First of all, i started the day with an interesting observation. U see, my foster daddy was throwing a ball for Robbie and it got stuck in the tree. Then he tried to get the ball down by throwing the ropes and they got stuck too. So KK and I sat and watched while they tried to get the stuff out of the tree by throwing a basketball. I just heard my foster mom say that it was not as funny as our heads going up and down watching.
videoBy the way, he got the two ropes down, but the ball is still in the tree. LOL!! After the rope entertainment, I went to a baseball game. Of course, everyone loved me and I got a lot of pets on the head. I then went to a cookout and met 2 Brittany's, Gidget and Gracie. They were really nice 2 me and I had fun. My mom forgot to take her camera, so there are no pictures of my field trip. I was so well behaved and I walked pretty good on the leash. I forgot to tell everybody that I also learned how to walk up and down the stairs. At first, it was very scary but I finally got brave enough to try it. Now, I can go up and down without even thinking about it. I also know how to use the doggy door. I can also retrieve a tennis ball. Wow, it sounds like I'm bragging, but I have done all these things in a few days. Sorry, I was dosing. I am tired from my big day, so I am going to take a nap.

Jake gets adopted!

As I write this blog entry, Jake is on his way home to meet his new family. He will have a golden brother named Harrison. We fostered Harrison back in 2002. He is now 13 years old and blind. Harrison just lost his golden brother, Ben to cancer on March 1st and he will be glad to have another brother to love. Harrison was our 2nd foster and Jake was our 89th foster. Where have the years gone. I still can't believe that we have been so fortunate to meet so many great Golden Retrievers. Keep checking the blog, because I am going to pick up Bree tomorrow.

What a beautiful Golden day!

What a beautiful day for a baseball game. I have had a great day. First of all, I played in the back yard with Cedar, Karma and Robbie. Karma and I played tug with the rope. Of course my foster mom ran to get the camera and we were through playing when she got back. We then got in the SUV and headed to the baseball game. We stopped at Sonic to get a drink and then we were on our way. By the way, I loved riding in the car. At the ballpark, I got to meet lots of people. Everyone was saying stuff like "Oh, what a beautiful dog", "Wow, you've got a great looking boy there", and "Oh, what a sweet face". I just smiled and wagged my tail. Matthew's team won the game and we headed back home. I was such a good boy at the game. I walked pretty good on the leash, but I will admit that I did pull just a little bit. Oh, I forgot to mention that I met my grandparents too. There is a picture of me, my foster dad Tim, and my granddad, and one of me and my foster mom.

Jake or Robbie?

Hi everybody. This is Jake. My foster mom has been wanting me to write on my blog, but I have been too busy. I am taking a break from my busy schedule and now I can't think of anything to talk about. I have been having a blast at my foster home. When my foster parents are home, I can go in and out the dog door whenever I want. I love just hanging out with the family and chewing on my bone. As you can see from the pictures, Robbie and I look a lot alike. Of course, I think I am a year younger and a little more easy on the eyes. Robbie fussed at me a little when I first got here because he is the "top" dog (or at least he thinks he his). After a few low growls and an evil eye, Robbie has gotten used to the idea that I am
his foster brother. You will need to check out my blog tomorrow afternoon, because I think I heard my foster mom tell Matthew that I was going to his baseball game tomorrow. I can't wait. Well, I guess I better go. It is 5:00and I need to check out my food bowl.
